At least 10 people were injured when police charged batons and used water cannons to disperse the readymade garment workers, who blocked the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Ashulia this morning protesting disparity in their new wage structure.
Bangladesh government has decided to revise the wages for apparel workers in purview of a non-ending spate of unrest in its garments sector. State Minister for Labour and Employment Munnujan Sufian announced the development today and said wages for grade 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be revised.
