Telecom and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar says it is impossible to hold back girls in their homes any more as the prime minister has already brought them out for education and huge number of them are engaged in development activities.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel today said that Hefajat-e Islam chief Shah Ahmed Shafi’s remarks on girls’ education are his own. While exchanging views with journalists this morning, Nowfel said,

Ready-made garment workers vandalised at least 20 vehicles on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka, this morning while staging demonstration in protest against the disparity in their new wage structure.

Germany ambassador to Bangladesh today said that the issues regarding the current movement by the ready-made garment workers over the disparity in their new wage structure should be resolved peacefully. “There must be a peaceful mechanism to resolve these issues,” Peter Fahrenholtz wrote in his twitter account re-twitting a news published by The Daily Star in its online version regarding today’s workers’ agitation.
